The relationship
- The manual states policy: what’s required, what’s prohibited, why, and who owns it. It changes rarely.
- An SOP states procedure: exactly how to do a specific task in our systems. SOPs change often as the practice improves.
- Where they overlap, the manual states the principle and links to the SOP. If you find a conflict, tell the practice manager. The manual doesn’t silently override an SOP, and an SOP doesn’t silently override the manual; the conflict gets fixed.
Where it lives
The SOP library is in the Operations shared drive, under Standard Operating Procedures. Start with00-SOP-Index.md, or open Healing-Haven-SOP-Hub.html for a browsable version.
SOPs every clinician reads in week one
The full index has around 30 SOPs. Most are front-office procedures you’ll never run but may want to understand.
