Notice
We ask for at least four weeks’ notice from clinicians and two weeks from other roles. Clinicians need longer because clients need a real transition, not a surprise. Notice isn’t legally required, and your employment is at will, but giving it is how you leave with your relationships and your reputation intact, and it affects whether you’re eligible for rehire. How to resign
Tell Helen directly, in person or by video, then confirm in writing (email to Helen and the practice manager is fine) with your last day. Don’t let the practice find out from a client or a colleague.During your notice period
- Keep seeing clients and keep documenting. Your notes must be complete by your last day.
- Work with Helen on transitioning every client. See Return of property and client transition.
- Don’t solicit clients to follow you, and don’t take any client information. See What survives employment.
- Complete the offboarding checklist with the practice manager.
