# Required Workplace Postings

> The notices the law requires us to display, and where they are.

Federal and Utah law require certain notices to be posted where employees can see them. For a hybrid team, the practice posts them in the office and makes them available electronically in the Operations shared drive.

## Required for an employer of our size (1 to 14 employees)

| Notice | Source |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------- |
| Employee Rights Under the FLSA (federal minimum wage; Utah has no separate minimum wage poster) | U.S. Department of Labor |
| Utah Occupational Safety and Health poster (Utah's version of "Job Safety and Health: It's the Law") | Utah Labor Commission |
| Employee Polygraph Protection Act | U.S. Department of Labor |
| Your Rights Under USERRA | U.S. Department of Labor |
| Utah Workers' Compensation notice | Utah Labor Commission |
| Utah Unemployment Insurance Notice to Workers | Utah Department of Workforce Services |

## Posted voluntarily

These are required at 15 or more employees, but the practice posts them now because the underlying policies apply here regardless:

| Notice | Source |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------- |
| EEOC "Know Your Rights: Workplace Discrimination is Illegal" | U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission |
| Utah Pregnancy and Related Conditions notice (updated June 2024) | Utah Labor Commission |

Utah's pregnancy accommodation rights also appear in this manual on [Accommodations](/employment/accommodations), which satisfies the handbook-notice requirement in Utah Code § 34A-5-106(7)(e) once the practice reaches 15 employees.

## Not required (and why)

* **FMLA** notice: applies at 50 or more employees.
* **Federal COBRA** notices: apply at 20 or more employees with a group health plan.
* **E-Verify** notices: apply only to employers that use E-Verify; Utah requires it at 150 or more employees.

## Where to find them

In the office, on the notice board near the staff area. Electronically, in the Operations shared drive under Human Resources. The practice manager checks each January, and whenever headcount changes, that the set is current, using the Utah Labor Commission poster page, the DWS employer poster page, and the federal DOL Poster Advisor as the sources of truth. Poster versions change; the agency pages win over anything saved locally.

## If you can't find one

Ask the practice manager. If a poster is missing or out of date, that's something to fix, not something to work around.
