# The SOP Library

> Where the step-by-step procedures live, and how they relate to this manual.

This manual tells you the rules. The SOP library tells you the steps. They're designed to work together.

## The relationship

* **The manual** states policy: what's required, what's prohibited, why, and who owns it. It changes rarely.
* **An SOP** states procedure: exactly how to do a specific task in our systems. SOPs change often as the practice improves.
* Where they overlap, the manual states the principle and links to the SOP. If you find a conflict, tell the practice manager. The manual doesn't silently override an SOP, and an SOP doesn't silently override the manual; the conflict gets fixed.

## Where it lives

The SOP library is in the Operations shared drive, under Standard Operating Procedures. Start with `00-SOP-Index.md`, or open `Healing-Haven-SOP-Hub.html` for a browsable version.

## SOPs every clinician reads in week one

| SOP | Topic |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| 01 | New team member CRM onboarding |
| 02 | Email signature setup |
| 05, 06, 07 | Booking, scheduling rules, no-show handling |
| 08 | New client intake through the care portal |
| 12 | Preferred name vs. legal name |
| 15 | Internal team communication and PHI rules |
| 19 | AI tools and PHI rules |
| 20 | Google Workspace and device security |

The full index has around 30 SOPs. Most are front-office procedures you'll never run but may want to understand.

## Reading vs. signing

You don't sign SOPs. You sign this manual's [acknowledgment](/acknowledgment), which covers the policies. SOPs are training references. Your systems and documentation training completion, recorded at onboarding, confirms you've been walked through the ones that apply to you.

## Contributing

If you find a procedure that's missing, wrong, or out of date, say so. If you own a process, you may be asked to write its SOP. The practice manager maintains the library and the hub.
